Ocean Waves frames are made from the highest quality materials. They are designed to withstand the tough demands of sports, yet remain attractive, functional, and comfortable.
The quality of your frame is important because it determines how long a pair of glasses will last and how comfortable they will feel, especially when you wear your glasses for extended periods of time.

Materials
Check the materials used for both frames and hinges – both are important for comfort and durability. Spring-loaded frames are generally more comfortable and the softer silicone nose pads may also be preferable to plastic.
Ocean Waves uses only the finest acetate, nylon, and metals - the same quality frames sold by leading optometrists and optical retailers. All frames are either solid colors or dyed (not painted), so there is no chipping or peeling. They are tumbled in teakwood chips to produce a silky, smooth finish. Additionally, most frames are hand grooved for an extra secure lens fit.

Temples
All temples are hand cut for a perfect fit. In the wire frames, most temples allow for individual adjustment for added comfort.

Hinges
Only silver/nickel hinges are used (no lead). This means durability and freedom from corrosion due to saltwater. While many sunglasses still use pin hinges, Ocean Waves offers many styles with 3 or 5 barrels hinges with fine lock screws to prevent “backing out.”
